Rev. Sonya Milton will share elements of her spiritual journey, from a secular upbringing, through the 1960’s and the alternatives that era offered, to a greater spiritual understanding and finding Unity just in the nick of time.
Rev. Sonya is recurrently retired from pulpit Ministry and enjoys spending time with her 11 year-old great-nephew, his 5 year old sister, and, of course, her husband, Rev. Hal Milton.. Previously, she served Unity Worldwide Ministries and the West Central Region as a Certified Transition Consultant, guest speaker and workshop/retreat facilitator, and all around beneficial presence. Her passion and joy lie in assisting people in “coming to themselves” in real, authentic, and profound ways.

Lessons in Truth is a clear, concise representation of New Thought philosophy and metaphysical Christianity. The spiritual concepts presented in these twelve lessons show us how to increase our personal empowerment and enhance our spiritual growth. Dr. Cady teaches that our lives can be transformed by the power of our thoughts, words, and beliefs. She encourages us to find our truth as it is written in our own hearts and then apply these truths in every area of our lives.
H. EMILIE CADY was a true holistic pioneer. Born in 1848, this turn-of-the-century homeopathic physician treated her patients both medically and spiritually. Her approach to healing was simple, clear, and rooted in her own experience.
A student of New Thought teacher Emma Curtis Hopkins, Dr. Cady remained spiritually independent. She was inspired by biblical teachings and influenced by the ideas of Ralph Waldo Emerson. Cady was a contemporary of Emmet Fox, the popular New Thought writer; Charles and Myrtle Fillmore, cofounders of the Unity movement; Ernest Holmes, founder of the Church of Religious Science, and other great minds of the New Thought Movement.

“Burning Bowl Ceremony”
Rev. Dr. Patricia Keel
The Burning Bowl Ceremony and ritual has been used by many traditions at year end to release and let go of past challenges both internally and externally and to imagine and call forth a powerful intention and vision for the coming year. We will gather together in person at the church and on Zoom to collectively share in a meditation and reflection.
Each of us will reflect and write down those qualities and challenges that we are ready to release. We will symbolically create a mental burning. Then later we will have the opportunity to burn or destroy our personal papers at Unity or at home as part of the ritual. After the releasing we will take the time to vision and imagine 12 months ahead, seeing ourselves in gratitude for a powerful year 2025. We will write a gratitude letter to the Divine or to our higher selves and put it in a special place to be open in the late months this new year.
Our music will feature Karen Naumann and Sahar on drums.

ADVENT: Faith of the Feminine
The word "Advent" comes from the Latin root adventus, which means "arrival" or "coming."
Christmas is about the birth of the Christ consciousness at the center of the human soul. It doesn’t belong to the past. It’s a living presence within us. The birth of the Christ Child is not an event that happened only in Bethlehem, for it is taking place in each of us, every day. It is this coming that we celebrate during Advent, the coming of the Christ consciousness within each of us.
This first Sunday in ADVENt we celebrate our FAITH by remembering the faith of two women, Mary and Elizabeth, cousins to one another and the mothers of Jesus and John the Baptist.
Our Bible story come from Luke Chapter 1. Join us in person or online.

We complete our 21 Day Gratitude Challen and take teh time to reflect on what we have experience as a community and as individuals. Rev. Patricia will speak and also ask others to share from their deep weel of gratitude this Sunday.
This final Sunday before Thanksgiving is our traditional SOUP and PIE Celebration.
This Sunday we are also honoring one of our members, Board President and Rummage Sale Wizard, Philip Faggard who is moving away. We apprciate his dedication, his healing presence and humor and his willingness to jump and do whatever is needed to make our community feel like a true spiritual home.

We often feel we ’should’ be grateful for whatever shows up, whether we’re feeling grateful or not, and yet is that even healthy or possible? It’s not when we are living from worldly consciousness. That’s because worldly consciousness often traps us in the fair/unfair cycle where we lose sight of the power of true gratitude. Gratitude has the capacity to transform into a very beautiful experience when we live from God consciousness. In this talk we’ll discuss how to gain greater freedom and satisfaction around our experience of gratitude.

“The Power of Gratitude”

In life, we’re often told to be grateful for what we have. To avoid complaining and to be content with our lot in life. Or, on the flip side, we’re encouraged to never settle and to keep striving for more.
So which is it? And why does it feel like these two methods are so at odds?
Our ability to be happy with what we have has a direct impact on our happiness and contentment in our life......and yet, we’re often discouraged from enjoying that same contentment. We’re told to push ourselves to do and have more, that we’ll be happier when we finally achieve these goals or pass those milestones.
How can we balance gratitude for what they have with the desire to push ourselves to a higher level?

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace,
Where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy;
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life
